Transplant

Hi everyone.

Kayla's mom here (Jeneice),

I have had a lot of questions regarding the transplant. The transplant is on hold. They are still trying to get the Chron's under control. They have her on Remicade & 500mg Steroid pulses. It has helped her stomach to a certain degree. It has replaced the Enbrel (Kayla is so excited about that!! Wiped out 2 shots a week. The Remicade has helped her arthritis, that is a big plus.)
Today, they did a endoscopy & colonoscopy & a capsule to see if it will go through her intestines.
If it does, she will get a capsule endoscopy ( a camera inside the capsule taking pictures of unreachable spots.)
The tests came back with good news. Just not a good explanation of why she had so much stomach pain!?
Rick & I should be meeting with the Transplant Doctors the second week in January. Should know more by the end of next week.

Hey Kayla!
Thinking of you and wishing you pain free days, filled with all your favorite foods. Prayers for you AND your parents. It's unbelieveably hard to watch your child have pain or heartache, and not be able to do a damn thing about it.
Maggie says hello. She got her pins pulled today. A great experience to have behind you. Wahoo! Now if we could just heal up that badly blistered area, she'd be good to go. We love ya Kayla.

Thanks for the update(s). Have they finally ruled Crohn's in or out? It sounded like they were going back and forth about whether or not that is what is causing the stomach pain. Geez, seems like the stomache ache could just be STRESS. Anyway.... praying for answers to come SOON so you all can move forward instead of around in circles.

Love, Ruth
